Instructions to Download the MMP Data Files

ACCESS

ALL files contained in the MMP website are available for public use. We have taken measures to ensure the confidentiality of our respondents. However, to further ensure the confidentiality of our data, we request that you fill out a registration form prior to downloading the files through the Office of Population Research Archive website. By submiting the registration form you agree to:

  1. Use the data contained only for research or educational purposes
  2. Not try to identify any individual, household or migrant community
  3. Not give access to your copy of the MMP database to other users who do not agree to respect these confidentiality terms.

We strongly recomment everyone who wants to use the MMP database to visit our website in order to download their own copy.

DOWNLOAD

Once you click the link below you will be taken to the OPR's Data Archive page for the MMP. If you are a first time user, you will need to register using a valid email. Once you've registered, you will receive an email from the OPR Archive with a password in order to access our datasets. If you are a returning user, simple login.

To download a specific file, just double click on the file of your choice. A pop-up window will allow you to save the file to a folder of your choice on your computer.  If you have trouble downloading our datasets, please do not hesitate to contact us.

We have compressed the files using the "zip" program. A common unzip utility for Windows is WinZip which you can download from the web. If you do not have WinZip installed, you may follow this link to install WinZip on your computer:

CODEBOOKS

Once you have downloaded the file of your interest, remember to download its corresponding codebook and any other appendix needed to do understand our codes. Go to the codebooks page!
